How to Adjust your ACORN Stair Lift

Seat Post Levelling Instructions

The following procedure must be strictly adhered to,
to avoid damage to the chassis plates.

Remove the footrest hinge cover by removing the two screws.
Remove the footrest hinge cover by removing the two screws.

To remove main cover, remove the 2 screws that are located along the bottom edge.
To remove main cover, remove the 2 screws that are located along the bottom edge.

Gradually remove the cover on an angle. It may be neccessary to loosen the footplate adjusting bolt.

Loosen the 4 verticle thumb screws. Loosen the 6 horizontal bolts (3 either side) until the post can just move.

Adjust the seat post to the correct angle using a spirit level.Adjust the seat post to the correct angle using a spirit level.

Tighten the 6 horizontal bolts using a 13mm socket. Ideally they should be tightened to 21 lb/ft using a torque wrench if available.

Hand tighten the 4 verticle thumb screws. Do not over-tighten, but ensure that they are screwed up snug against the horizontal seat post bar, preventing any possible movement of the seat post. WARNING! The four vertical thumb screws must not be used to level the seat post.

Replace the carriage cover and footrest hinge cover by reversing the removal procedure.

This completes the seat post level adjustment procedure.
