This procedure should be carried out with the unit mounted on the staircase, parked at the top of the stairs.
Tools required are: 5mm allen socket and wrench (a torque wrench is ideal, but not essential), builders level
- Remove the self-adhesive ‘ACORN’ badge from the flat face of the stairlift carriage cover, located above the footrest.
- Locate the two 5mm allen bolts that are visible through the aperture in the carriage cover on both sides of the carriage (fig.1) and loosen with the socket and wrench. There is no need to remove these bolts, merely slacken them off.
- It will now be possible to move the seat and seat post assembly in the fore and aft plane.
- Place a builders level across the seat base and adjust the entire seat assembly to the desired position.
- Re-tighten the 5mm allen bolts on both sides of the chassis to 35lb/ft of torque. If you do not have a torque wrench available, tighten the bolts to hand tight and then tighten with a 5mm socket wrench another 1.5 turns. Note: Ensure that the square shaped gripper washer is flush with the locking strap when re-tightening the bolts (fig.2)
- Replace the self adhesive badge

This completes seat level adjustment procedure.
