How to Adjust your ACORN Stair Lift

Footrest Adjustment

Tools required are: philips type screwdriver, 8mm allen key, torque wrench, spirit level.

  1. Using a philips type screwdriver, remove the footrest hinge cover. Note: It is not necessary to remove the main carriage enclosure to adjust the footrest angle.
  2. Note the position of the carriage-to-footrest cable. Loosen the 3 x 8mm allen bolts (black in colour), 2 of which are located above the footrest hinge and 1 below. The footrest assembly will now become moveable in the fore and aft plane.
  3. Place a spirit level on the footrest and adjust until level.
  4. Re-tighten the 3 x 8mm allen bolts to 35 n/m, using a torque wrench CAUTION! Ensure that the carriage-to-footrest cable does not become ‘pinched’ or trapped in the hinge mechanism.
  5. Replace the footrest hinge cover.

This completes footrest level adjustment procedure.
