For controller boards prior to version 1.6, |
| Light Sequence | Circuit board | Problem | Action |
All 120 boards | Controller Powered Down | Battery is disconnected or completely drained. |
All 120 boards | NORMAL OPERATION | Batteries fully charged, lift in correct travelling position all power connected ready for use. Unless one of the following has occurred. |
| Toggle fault | Try moving lift using remote control, if lift responds toggle is faulty. If lift does not respond, check safety edges and, finally limit switches. Caution: not all customers are able to perform these checks, if they cannot, ask if there is anyone who can help them. | ||
| Safety edges |
These are safety features that stop the lift if it hits any object. There are three on the footrest and two on the carriage itself. The lift’s location determines which edges have been activated.
| Limit switches (up/down/final) |
These switches ensure the lift stops steadily without a jolt, by making contact with stops at each end of the track. If the switch fails the final limit will be activated. The switches are located under the carriage just above the rail and are made of brass with a small wheel on each of them.
All 120 boards | STANDBY MODE |
The green LED will only flash if the lift is left off-charge or on its charge point not receiving any mains power. The lift is in standby mode to save battery power.
All 120 boards | OPEN CIRCUIT | Ascertain type of board in lift in order to follow correct procedure, as infra red boards have different software to radio boards. Look at the remote controls for three small bulbs in the end, this will determine if the board is infra red. If there are no bulbs the board is radio. |
| V5 Infra-red | Key switch | Check the lift is switched on at key under the control arm. Try and pull the key out of lock. If it does not pull out the lift is switched on. If it pulls out, place the key back in the lock and turn it clockwise. If the red LED does not go out, it requires a visit by an engineer. | |
| V4 & V5 Radio | OPEN CIRCUIT | The red LED will light up if either the lift is switched off, the seat is not in the ride position, the seat swivel micro switch is not connected correctly, the over speed governor (OSG) has been activated or the lift has over ridden the top/bottom stops. Check the following in the order below. | |
| Key switch | Check lift is switched on at the key. | ||
| Seat swivel |
Check the seat is locked in the ride position (the back of the seat should be against the wall the lift runs up).
| OSG / Final Limit |
Check position of footrest against the level of the upper floor. If it is below, follow procedure for OSG and if it is above follow procedure for final limit.
All 120 boards | OPEN CIRCUIT, STANDBY MODE | The red LED will only flash if the lift is broken down and not receiving a charge. If lift was on charge point when red LED flashed, ensure transformer is plugged in and switched on. Follow procedures for red constant LED. |
V5 Infra-red, V4 & V5 radio |
Lift not receiving charge |
All lights will flash and the lift will bleep for 40 sec then stop. If the lift is moved, the sequence occurs again. Ascertain location of lift
V4 & V5 radio | Seat swivel |
Seat not in ride position or micro switch is jammed. Check the seat is locked in the ride position (the back of the seat should be against the wall the lift runs up).
V4 & V5 radio | Batteries isolated | Check that the red plug is fixed into the carriage correctly. If not insert. If connected correctly ask customer to pull out and replace. If it will still not go, requires visit by an engineer. |
| V5 Infra-red | OSG | OverSpeed Governor has been activated. Locate the hand-winding wheel (gray mushroom shaped object approx. 5" in diameter, generally left under the rail on one of the stair treads). Prise out white disk on the carriage next to the red plug (a blunt knife or screwdriver may be required). Place hand-winding wheel into the hole and turn the wheel clockwise maximum of ten turns until the red LED goes out and the green one comes on. Take the hand-winding wheel out of the hole and send the lift to the top of the rail and run it back down again just to check everything is ok. | |
V5 Infra-red, V4 & V5 radio |
Batteries flat | Lift has been run until battery is flat. Lift will attempt to reach charge point at half speed and then charge for 40 minutes before moving again |
V5 Infra-red | Batteries low | Charge in batteries is less than 30 percent. This will only occur when the lift is toggled. Park lift on charge point and leave for a minimum of 40 minutes. |
The following fault codes give an indication of what is wrong with the lift. The LEDs flash red/yellow four times then the following fault codes four times then red/yellow again. All version 5 boards including infrared should reset themselves once the lift is toggled. |
| Light Sequence | Circuit board | Problem | Action |
V5 Infra-red, V4 & V5 radio |
Brake fault | Brake not connected. Try the toggle switch. If it will still not go there is a board fault. Requires visit by an engineer. |
V5 Infra-red, V4 & V5 radio |
Over volts | The battery volts are above 31 volts so the charger is damaged. Toggle the lift, if it will still not go, requires visit by an engineer. |
V5 Infra-red, V4 & V5 radio |
Relay fault | A relay has become welded or damaged. Toggle the lift, if it will not go ask them to unplug the transformer and unplug the red plug on the lift (located on the carriage under the seat). Leave the red plug out for 1-minute, replace and switch transformer back on. This should manually reset the lift. If it will still not go, requires visit by an engineer. |
V5 Infra-red, V4 & V5 radio |
Motor Fault | Motor disconnected. Toggle the lift, if it will still not go, requires visit by an engineer. The 25A fuse has blown, the motor has been connected incorrectly, the motor is damaged or the power section on the board has been damaged. |
